Assisted Repatriation and Reintegration Support Programme

The project aims to contribute to the effective management of the migration phenomenon in Romania through the safe and dignified repatriation of a number of 200 migrants to their countries of origin in the 2 years of implementation, as well as through sustainable socio-economic reintegration measures for a number of 60 migrants

Objective: the project aims to contribute to the effective management of the migration phenomenon in Romania through the safe and dignified repatriation of a number of 200 migrants to their countries of origin in the 2 years of implementation, as well as through sustainable socio-economic reintegration measures for a number of 60 migrants by 2022 and the strengthening of institutional cooperation between actors with competences in the field of migration. The programme is addressed to migrants who wish to return home and who belong to one of the following categories: (a) migrants illegally residing in Romania; (b) asylum seekers who have received a negative decision and those who have not yet received a final negative decision but wish to abandon the procedure and return home; (c) foreigners benefiting from international protection or subsidiary protection in Romania and who wish to abandon it in order to return home.


Project location: Bucharest and all GII accommodation centres


Project results (expected):

  • safe and dignified repatriation of 200 migrants;

  • repatriation counselling services for 1200 migrants;

  • socio-economic reintegration allowances for 60 voluntarily repatriated beneficiaries;

  • clothing/food packages for 160 repatriated persons.


Role and level of involvement in the project: Partner.


Total project cost: 1,970,000.00 lei (of which 265,702.00 lei for the Partner - JRS Romania (53,697.78 euro).
