JRS Chess Club for Ukrainian children and youth opened in Bucharest

We opened the JRS Chess Club for Ukrainian children and youth.

The club is established by the JRS Romania Association with Mr. Niculae Aurelian, Candidate Master, as teacher.

Opened in August 2022 on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day, our club is intended to be a support for refugee children knowing its many benefits, including improved school performance. Lessons are offered free of charge and we want to give the little ones a unique experience using interactive methods.

At the moment, more than 30 children are enrolled in the club and our intention is to open more series in the future including Romanian children.

More than 86,000 Ukrainians have taken refuge in Romania, more than 30% of them children.

Chess, a very popular and widespread sport in Ukraine, has been received with great enthusiasm by both children and parents. We hope that these courses will lead to a better adaptation of Ukrainian children in Romania and that we can promote this sport of the mind among as many young people as possible.

We invite you to join the club as a volunteer and those who wish to participate can register at +40744405657.
